Train Fare Options

Sleeper Class – ₹300(~$3.60)

🌄 Aizawl – Clean, Calm & Built Across Hills

Aizawl impressed me with its cleanliness, discipline, and peaceful lifestyle. It is one of India’s cleanest hill cities and has one of the highest literacy rates in the country.

Most locals speak English and their native Mizo language, which makes communication very easy for visitors.

I stayed in a comfortable apartment-style accommodation:

Perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers who prefer a homely environment.

🌤️ Best Places I Visited in Mizoram

Siphir was one of the highlights. The region is around 4000+ feet high, and during my visit, the trek was literally covered by clouds.
A must-visit for nature lovers and photographers.

2️⃣ Champhai – The Perfect Mix of Hills & Plains

Champhai offers scenic plains surrounded by majestic hills. The villages are beautiful and peaceful, giving a perfect break from noisy city life.

One of the most iconic landmarks of Aizawl. The architecture is stunning, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it one of the best places to spend a quiet morning or evening.

Mizoram has a strong cultural identity, visible in its churches, festivals, and traditional lifestyles.

5️⃣ Aizawl Skywalk & Local Cafés

The Skywalk offers amazing panoramic views of Aizawl.
The cafés here have a great vibe and serve delicious coffee, snacks, and local dishes at affordable prices.

🍽️ Food, Local Wine & Delivery Options

Mizoram’s cuisine is simple, fresh, and delicious. You can also try their local wine, which is affordable and popular among visitors.
Online food delivery apps are available in Aizawl, which makes dining very convenient.

🛵 Scooter Rental — Not Recommended

Though scooters are available for rent, Aizawl’s hilly roads need expert driving skills.
👉 Tourists should choose taxis for safety and comfort.

📄 Mizoram Inner Line Permit (ILP)

ILP is mandatory for all visitors entering Mizoram.

  • Cost: ₹350 (~$4.20)

My Overall Experience in Mizoram

Overall, my Mizoram travel guide proves that this beautiful Northeast state is perfect for anyone who wants peaceful hills, friendly people, clean cities, and affordable travel. Whether you explore Aizawl’s narrow hill roads, trek through the cloud-covered mountains of Siphir, or enjoy the open plains of Champhai, Mizoram offers a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else in India. With good train connectivity, budget hotels, safe transportation, English-speaking locals, and delicious food, travelling here is simple and enjoyable.
